About Us

Excelsior – Our History

The estate where Excelsior was born was first taken ownership of by Ivan & Pat (Leon & Yvonne’s parents) in 1962. After years of growing veg and selling onto the wholesale markets, Ivan went into growing and drying/dyeing flowers. Due to the demand, ‘Excelsior Dried Flowers’ was born selling flowers wholesale and retail, also exporting globally.

After years of expanding the business, the company was re-named ‘Excelsior Wholesale’. Still importing and exporting from across the globe, we have evolved to what we are today. Even though Ivan employed staff to work on the estate prior to Excelsior, the first staff employed for the Wholesale was around 1990. (Rich in 1995 and still here!!)

We decided in 2005 that a big part of the future was going to be the ‘World Wide Web’, so Leon & Rich took on the mammoth task of building our website. Our current site was re-launched in 2020 with it’s fresh new look.

One of Ivan’s dreams was to have a Vineyard and recreational fishing lakes. This was another huge task which was started in 2004, now offering award winning wines from 8,000 vines, and 7 fully stocked fishing lakes on the estate. Take a look www.buzzards-valley.co.uk

What makes us different?? We always try to source our customers the best products, at the right prices. We only stock mid to best quality lines with over 30,000 in our system to date, ever expanding. Also, having a small dedicated team with expertise on hand and always ready to make you smile.

Our future goals are to continue being here for all our customers, whether you are a florist, interior designer or sole trader.
